Apple Reveals macOS Tahoe at WWDC 2025

Apple introduces macOS Tahoe, the next version of its desktop operating system

Apple has officially announced the next version of its desktop operating system, macOS Tahoe. The name, inspired by the scenic Lake Tahoe in California, continues Apple’s tradition of naming macOS versions after iconic locations across the state. The announcement was made during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference, where the new features and design language were also introduced.

macOS Tahoe brings a major visual overhaul to the Mac interface. The new design, called Liquid Glass, features translucent layers, rounded elements, and more fluid interactions. This marks the most significant design update since macOS Yosemite, offering a cleaner and more modern look across system windows, icons, and menus.

The update deepens integration with the iPhone. A new Phone app comes to the Mac, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from their desktop. Voicemail, call history, and spam identification are also part of the experience. Apple is expanding its Continuity features, aiming to make device transitions even more seamless for users within the Apple ecosystem.

Spotlight search has been improved with more intelligent results and faster access to actions. Users can now run Shortcuts, launch apps, and search content more efficiently. It also supports iPhone app launching through screen mirroring, expanding the usefulness of iOS apps on macOS.

The new Games tab in macOS Tahoe provides a central hub for game management and social features

macOS Tahoe introduces a dedicated Games app that serves as a central hub for game management, social features, and performance tools. With the debut of Metal 4, Apple is also enhancing graphics capabilities with improved rendering and real-time frame optimization. These changes show Apple's growing commitment to serious gaming on the Mac platform.

Artificial intelligence is playing a bigger role in macOS. Features powered by Apple Intelligence include smarter writing tools, on-device image generation, Genmoji creation, and real-time language translation. These tools are designed to enhance productivity while keeping user data private and secure.

This release marks a turning point for Mac hardware compatibility. macOS Tahoe will be the final version to support Intel-based Macs. Starting next year, macOS updates will require Apple Silicon, signaling the full transition to Apple's custom chips across its entire computer lineup.

Developers already have access to the beta version of macOS Tahoe, with a public beta coming in July. The official release is expected in the fall, and the update will be available on all Apple Silicon Macs and select Intel models that include a T2 security chip.

Thailand Unveils AI-Powered Police Robot for Public Safety

Thailand has introduced its first AI-powered police robot, named AI Police Cyborg 1.0, during the annual Songkran festival in Nakhon Pathom. This move signals a new chapter in the country’s approach to public safety, blending artificial intelligence with real-time surveillance to support human officers. The robot, developed under a collaboration between Thai law enforcement and local tech partners, is designed to monitor large crowds and assist police during major events. It is equipped with AI-driven cameras that provide 360-degree surveillance and can detect potentially dangerous behavior such as fights or theft. One of the key features of AI Police Cyborg 1.0 is its facial recognition system, which is capable of identifying individuals flagged in criminal databases. If the system detects someone considered a threat, it automatically alerts nearby officers through a centralized Command and Control Center. The robot is also programmed to distinguish between real weapons and harmless...
