TikTok, owned by Chinese tech giant ByteDance, is investing $3.8 billion in a data hosting project in Thailand. The facility is expected to start operations in 2026.
The project, run through TikTok’s Singapore-based unit, will support its services across the region. It also aims to strengthen Thailand’s digital and AI infrastructure, helping the country become a leading digital hub in Southeast Asia.
This move follows major tech investments in Thailand by companies like Amazon Web Services ($5 billion) and Google ($1 billion). According to Thailand’s Board of Investment, TikTok’s new data center will create jobs, support local innovation, and boost the digital economy.
With this investment, TikTok plans to expand its e-commerce and content operations while securing a stronger infrastructure base in Asia
